Data hall
From this tier upwards, the facility is no longer context — it is part of the system. We design the hall and the compute together: resilience, cooling, fire, and a formal commissioning programme through to Ready-for-Service.
Typical configuration
Institutional system, 0.3–1 MW IT
Investment range
IT: €6–70M | facility: €5.5–15M
What this tier involves
- Typical role
- Institutional HPC & AI, private cloud at scale
- Facility
- €5.5–15M at 0.3–1 MW IT, engineered together with the system
- Resilience
- Uptime Tier objectives, N+1 / 2N electrical, L0–L5 Cx under load
- Fee
- Basic €30–130k | Platinum €0.8–3.7M | Supreme €0.3–1.2M/year
Indicative figures, August 2026, excluding VAT. High volatility on GPUs and memory — firm quotes are valid for 30–60 days. The final price is set at scoping.
What matters at this scale
Our practice at this tier comes from national-scale facility work, including the DEUS 11 dossier, on the EN 50600 / ISO 22237, ASHRAE and Uptime frameworks.
- Cooling architecture
- A high-temperature liquid loop for dense IT and a chilled circuit for the remaining spaces, with free cooling as the primary regime
- Heat reuse
- Heat recovered from the liquid loop feeds the building's heating, in line with the EED provisions on reuse
- Rooms by regime
- Each room is classified onto a cooling loop or an independent system; the ventilation regime follows the hazard class
- Fire by zones
- Detection and clean-agent suppression per compartment, with the cause-and-effect matrix tested before entering service
- Acceptance gates
- Staged commissioning, scripted integrated systems tests and liquid-loop acceptance under load
- Energy accounting
- PUE, WUE and energy reuse are reported under declared measurement boundaries, verifiable at audit
